I have been drawing and painting since childhood. In high school I took classes at the Art Institute, the North Shore Academy of Art in Glenview and from Dale Wilson. My BA is from Purdue University (in anthropology) and I took life drawing at Northwestern University. After marriage, children and work, I neglected painting until retirement. I am thrilled to now have the time to get back to my passion of art.
I work primarily in oils but have recently dabbled in pastel. I’m not sure what direction that will take me but I believe oil painting will always be my primary medium.
Life! I can't think of any subject, animate or inanimate, that I don't enjoy painting.
Since my husband and I moved from the Chicago area to North Carolina, I have found an abundance of material in my surroundings…mountains, water, wildlife, abandoned barns, etc.
